- נְכַס, נְכֵיסch. sam( נָכַס (cmp. כָּסִס) to cut; to slaughter); impf. יִכּוֹס. Targ. Gen. 31:54. Ib. O. 22:10 למִיכַּס ed. Berl. (oth. ed. a. Y. למֵיכַס); a. fr.Snh.25b bot. והאידנא נ׳ אבאוכ׳ and presently he will slaughter the father for the son and the son for the father (he will exercise extortions). Y.Shebi.V, end, 36a מִיכּוֹס תוראוכ׳ to slaughter an ox available for the plough; a. fr. Ithpe. אִתְנְכֵס, אִתְנְכֵיס, אִינְּכֵיס to be slaughtered. Targ. Lev. 19:6; a. fr.Gen. R. s. 33 אזל למִתְנַכְסָהוכ׳ was going to be slaughtered, and it lowed, as if to say, save me; Y.Keth.XII, 35a מִינְּכֵיס; Y.Kil.IX, 32b מִנְּכס taken to be slaughtered.
